A woman in Florida allegedly caused two minor traffic accidents. Rather than stopping to exchange insurance information with those drivers, she attempted to run from the scene. That’s when she apparently caused a fatal car accident.

The woman, who is 28 years old, is now facing charges for vehicular homicide, per reports.

Those reports also note that, right around 10:00 a.m., the woman’s flight from the previous accidents brought her to a red light. She decided to run the light. In doing so, she hit the driver’s side of a Lexus with a 53-year-old man behind the wheel. He was injured and passed away from those injuries.

The woman in the first car also was seriously injured in the wreck. Emergency crews took her to the hospital but not before the police arrived and arrested her. She is at a local hospital getting treatment, but she is still in custody.

The two minor accidents began when she tried and failed to pass another car, hitting the side of it in the attempt. When she ran, that driver followed her and called the police. She ran through a first red light, striking yet another car, and kept going. At the second red light, she tried it again, and that’s when the incident turned deadly.

Stories like this show how one person’s decisions can spiral out of control and quickly impact numerous individuals. If you get injured by a driver like this, or if you lose a loved one, make sure you know all of the rights that you may have to seek financial compensation for your costs.
